Jon Trickett MP
Shadow Secretary of State
Jon is the MP for Hemsworth and the Shadow Secretary of State for Communities and Local
Government. Previously, he served as a Shadow Minister for the Cabinet Office under Ed Miliband. Jon was a councillor himself, from 1989 - 1996 he was the Leader of Leeds City Council. Jon is also the Shadow Minister for the Constitutional Convention.
Steve Reed MP
Shadow Minister of State
Steve Reed is the MP for Croydon North, in May 2015 he was appointed Shadow
Minister for Communities and Local Government and has remained in post. Prior to this he was appointed the Shadow Home Office Minister in October 2013, under Ed Miliband.
Liz McInnes MP
Shadow Communities and Resilience Minister
Liz McInnes is the MP for Heywood and Middleton and was first elected in October 2014 in a by-election. Previously Liz spent 33 years working for the NHS and was a councillor in neighbouring Rossendale.
Emma Lewell-Buck MP
Shadow Minister for Communities and Local Government
Emma Lewell-Buck MP is the Member of Parliament for South Shields, having won in a by-election in 2013. Previous to that, she was a Councillor for Primrose ward on South Tyneside Council for nine years.

John Healey MP
Shadow Minister of State
John was elected as the MP for Wentworth 1997 (boundaries changed in 2010 and he is now the MP for Wentworth and Deane). John has previously served as the Shadow Minister for Housing and Planning in 2010, before being promoted to Secretary of State for Health, a position he held for a year. Prior to this John was a Minister of State for the Department of Communities and Local Government, holding responsibilities for both Housing and Local Government. John also has experience of serving as the Financial Secretary and Economic Secretary to the HM Treasury.
Roberta Blackman-Woods MP
Shadow Minister of State
Roberta was elected at MP for the City of Durham in 2005. Since October 2011, Roberta served as a Shadow Minister in Communities and Local Government covering planning policy and procurement. In 2010 she served as the Shadow Minister for Civil Society covering charities, volunteering and social enterprise. Roberta has served on the following Select Committees: Education and Skills, Innovation, Universities, Science and Skills, Science and Technology and Statutory Instruments.
Teresa Pearce MP

Teresa Pearce was eleceted as the MP for Erith and Thamesmead in 2010. She has previously sat on the Treasury Select Committee and the Work and Pensions Select Committee.
Matthew Pennycook MP
Parliamentary Private Secretary to John Healey
Matthew Pennycook MP was elected as Member of Parliament for Greenwich and Woolwich in May 2015. He served as Councillor for West Greenwich until March 2015 and has regularly campaigned on the Living Wage but before and since entering Parliament.

Lord (Bill) McKenzie
House of Lords Shadow Spokesperson
Bill McKenzie is the Labour spokesperson for Communities and Local Government, and Work and Pensions in the House of Lords. Bill joined the House of Lords as a life Peer in 2004. He has held positions in the previous Labour Government as a Government spokesperson for the Treasury and the Department of Trade and Industry (2005-2007), and was Parliamentary Under-Secretary of State at the Department for Work and Pensions and a Minister at DCLG (2009-2010). Before becoming a Peer, Bill was an advisor to Labour’s Shadow Treasury team.
Lord (Jeremy) Beecham
House of Lords Shadow Spokesperson
Jeremy Beecham is an active member of Labour’s frontbench DCLG team and Justice spokesperson in the House of Lords. He was introduced as a Member of the Lords in autumn 2010. He has been (and is still) a Labour councillor in Newcastle upon Tyne since 1967 and was Leader of the Council from 1977 to 1994. He chaired the National Local Government Association from 1995 to 2004 and the Association of Metropolitan Authorities from 1991 to 1997. Jeremy has held positions of responsibility within the Labour Party, being a member of Labour’s National Executive Committee from 1998 to 2010 and chairing that committee from 2005 to 2006.
Lord (Roy) Kennedy
House of Lords Shadow Spokesperson
Roy Kennedy is a Shadow Spokesperson for Communities and Local Government in the House of Lords. Lord Kennedy worked for the Labour Party in a number of roles for over 20 years and served as Councillor on Southwark Council in the 1980s before recently being elected as Councillor for Crofton Park on Lewisham Council. Since becoming a member of the House of Lords in 2010, he has campaigned in support of Credit Unions and is the Vice Chair of the All Party Parliamentary Group on Credit Unions. He is also a Director of the London Mutual Credit Union.
